The United States of America have long embraced genetically modified foods but Europe has shunned them.
The US President, George W Bush decided to invade Iraq in 2003, backed by his advisers and with the support of most citizens.
Europe counseled against invasion and most citizens opposed the war.
Of course, as a statistician, I must point out that correlation does not necessarily imply causation. There could be some other factor which caused the US to be happy to eat GM foods and to decide to invade Iraq and which had the opposite result in Europe.
I’ll leave it to my readers to speculate about candidate factors.
